Slides from DHSS, Semantic Markup for Literature

I posted my slides – which aren’t really super responsive or portable, but I knew I’d be playing them from my Mac – from a lightning talk I gave at the Digital Humanities Student Scholars event in April ‘16. It was half in hopes of prompting a discussion of how to generate a semantic (HTML) markup standard for poetry (or drama, music, math, whatever). The other half was saying that as “advanced” scholars of our specific domains, we’re in a great place to advance standards that will help our work(s) be more accessible, responsive, and semantically sound for the widest range of users.
